Hey all you fabulous Plucking Strummers.
This year the International Ukulele Festival in Torrance will be held on September 20th. As in the past, again we will have a pop up inside the Torino Plaza, where we can talk to people about our meetings, hand out a few snacks, and help people with information if they need it.
Mitch Chang has again graciously given us first shot at the gatekeeper positions. Those of you who are new, if you sign up for a one hour slot checking wristbands and handing out programs you will get free admission. The first hour obviously is the most difficult, as there are usually 100 or more people waiting in line anxious to get in. But after that, it’s quiet and it’s just a simple hour checking to make sure people have wristbands or guiding them to the table where they can pay for an entry if they don’t already have it. We are not responsible to take in any admission fees.
