What happens during a Meetup?
While there are differences from time to time, this is what a typical Saturday Meetup looks like:
9 AM to 10:45 AM – This is the time when we will strum and sing our hearts out to a list of songs chosen by that meeting’s song leader. There will be one 10-to-15-minute break somewhere during that time.
10:45 to 11:15 AM – More singing and strumming.
11:15 AM to 11:40 – Individual performance time! I really hope we can get many people to sign up. I would love to see some of our new Strummers stretch their wings. Then we need to pack up and exit the building before Noon.
It is very important to the church that we have completely exited the building and cleaned up behind us before the next group arrives. So, depending on the number of performance signups, we may or may not get to all of them. Any member who signs up but does not get to perform, will be moved to the top of the list for the next meeting.
Where are you located?
We meet at a beautiful church location in Atwater Village.
The address of C.C.L.A. is 3852 Edenhurst Ave Los Angeles CA 90039
Are your meetings free?
There is a suggested donation of $10 for every meetup.
Do I need to wear a mask?
Masks are no longer mandatory, however, if you feel more comfortable wearing one, please do.
Do you have music stands?
As there are only a few music stands readily available to us, if you have a music stand, please bring it with you.
Can I perform during a meetup?
We have time for individual performances at the end of each meetup, from 11:15am to 11:40am. There is a sign-up sheet available for each meetup.
Can I present at or lead a meetup?
Any member who wishes to be a guest presenter/teacher needs to contact Gene at one of the meetings or email him at genemazzanti [@] gmail.com .
What changes can I expect for 2025?
We will be switching up the meeting format a bit in 2025. More details are provided here.
