Meetup August 23, 2025 – Dreams…
Our 2nd meetup of the month is on August 23rd.
Your humble director is going to take Center Stage and lead you on a dreamy trip from 1864 to 1995. All songs about dreams and dreaming and dreaming about the one you love. It’s a variety of styles and tempos. I assume most of the songs are well known to you because we’ve all been around since 1864. Here’s a small sampling of the songs we’re going to do… Dream a Little dream, Dream, Dream lover, Dream baby, Daydream Believer and more. I wasn’t kidding about the dream theme was I?
Our schedule:
9 AM to 9:45 AM – It’s great to have Mark back and he will be leading the group in a few warm-up rehearsals of Pink Shoelaces. Mark will be directing the full arrangement of the song. If there’s time, I will go over one or two of the trickier songs in my Deam list.
10:00 to 11:15 AM – Dreaming of Ukuleles.
11:15 AM to 11:40 – Individual performance time! I really hope we can get many people to sign up. I would love to see some of our new Strummers stretch their wings. Then we need to pack up and exit the building before Noon.

It is very important to the church that we have completely exited the building and cleaned up behind us before the next group arrives. So, depending on the number of performance signups, we may or may not get to all of them. Any member who signs up but does not get to perform will be moved to the top of the list for the next meeting.
Any member who wishes to be a guest presenter/teacher needs to contact me weeks before the meeting, let me know what you plan to present and provide me early copies of any material you will be handing out.
