DESCRIPTION:“JUST LIKE MAGIC” \n“I believe that magic is art and that art\, whether it be writing\, music\, sculpture\, or any other form is literally magic”. \nAlan Moore \nI don’t believe in Ghouls or Goblins\, Witches and Wizards or talking Birds\, but I do feel that there is something ethereal and remarkable about making and bringing music to an empty room. I hope you join us February 28 for a chance to make a bit of magic. \nYour humble director\,\nGene \nAll the songs will be in PDF form\, but four of them are from the Daily Ukulele yellow book. So please feel free to bring that book with you. \nHere’s the list of the songs… \n\nDo You Believe In Magic\nBlack Magic Woman\nThis Magic Moment\nMagic Moments\nThe Magic Touch\nBewitched Bothered And Bewildered\nWitchy Woman\nDevil In Disguise\nLove Potion Number 9\nPuff The Magic Dragon (maybe)\nThat Old Black MagicPDF TO COME.\n\n9 AM to 9:40 AM – \nIntroduction to the Songs with Gene. \nBased on available time\, we will learn the melodies of songs in the strum list you may not remember that well. Or at all. It’s an idea I had that we would all enjoy the strum/singing section of the meeting more if we weren’t learning the songs and trying to play/sing at the same time. \n9:40 AM to 10:00 AM -Breaktime\, and a chance to mingle and share snacks and refreshments and bargain for a new ukulele. \n10:00 to 11:15 AM – This will be our classic strum session\, performing a list of songs chosen by me. \n11:15 AM to 11:30 – Second Breaktime. \n11:30 AM to 12:00 Individual performance time! I really hope we can get many people to sign up. I would love to see some of our new Strummers stretch their wings. Then we need to pack up and exit the building before Noon. \nIt is very important to the church that we completely exit the building and clean up behind us before the next group arrives. So\, depending on the number of performance signups\, we may or may not get to all of them. Any member who signs up but does not get to perform will be moved to the top of the list for the next meeting. \nAny member who wishes to be a guest presenter/teacher needs to contact me the week before the meeting\, let me know what you plan to present and provide me with early pdfs of any material you will be handing out. \nAs there are only a few music stands readily available to us\, if you have a music stand\, please bring it with you. \nThe address of C.C.L.A. is 3852 Edenhurst Ave Los Angeles CA 90039 \nLet’s have some “ukulele” fun!
