DESCRIPTION:Hi all you Plucking Strummers\, join Lauren and your fellow ukulele afficionados for a flashback Saturday morning filled with great songs from the 1980s!  \nGet out your boombox and worn cassettes\, put on your bangles and leg warmers\, it’s the 80s! I thought hard about which songs would translate well to the ukulele\, and which would be fun for us to sing. We’ll start with a little early 80s British new wave/synth pop (some of my favorite music) and then move toward the great axis of mid-80s pop giants. If you have a low G instrument and a pick\, this is your day to shine — there will be lots of power chords and fun bass riffs. As before\, there are a few solos and riffs tabbed out for those who want to try them. Also\, I heard your feedback from last time and added chord diagrams. I’ll post the tab sheet again in the announcement. (Or download here.) \n9:20 AM to 11:15 AM – This is the time when we will strum and sing our hearts out to a list of songs chosen by that meeting’s song leader. There will be one 10-to-15-minute break somewhere during that time. \n11:15 AM to 11:40 – Individual performance time! I really hope we can get many people to sign up. I would love to see some of our new Strummers stretch their wings. Then we need to pack up and exit the building before Noon. \nDisclaimers: \nMasks are no longer mandatory\, however\, if you feel more comfortable wearing one\, please do. \nIt is very important to the church that we have completely exited the building and cleaned up behind us before the next group arrives. So\, depending on the number of performance signups\, we may or may not get to all of them. Any member who signs up but does not get to perform\, will be moved to the top of the list for the next meeting.
