DESCRIPTION:Our 1st meetup of the month is on August 9th. Jeff Burton retains to lead us in songs from to ’80s. \nIt’s a great pleasure to once again have Jeff Burton as our strum leader. Jeff always brings a wonderful assortment of songs that we don’t usually get a chance to sing and play. This meeting is hits of the 80s from KROQ. \nThe PDF of Jeff’s songs will be posted at the top of our Facebook page and right here. \nOur schedule: \n9 AM to 9:45 AM – The first part of this hour Jim Levy will present a terrific way he learned to play up the neck of the ukulele. Movable cords are a real treat once you learn to play them comfortably. Download the fretboard patterns here. \nAnd I will also be leading the group in a few warm-up rehearsals of Pink Shoelaces. Mark will be back at the next meeting and take over the full arrangement rehearsals. \n10:00 to 11:15 AM – Guest leader Jeff Burton will present his K-Rock It’s from the 80s. \n11:15 AM to 11:40 – Individual performance time! I really hope we can get many people to sign up. I would love to see some of our new Strummers stretch their wings. Then we need to pack up and exit the building before Noon.

DESCRIPTION:Our 2nd meetup of the month is on August 23rd. \nYour humble director is going to take Center Stage and lead you on a dreamy trip from 1864 to 1995. All songs about dreams and dreaming and dreaming about the one you love. It’s a variety of styles and tempos. I assume most of the songs are well known to you because we’ve all been around since 1864. Here’s a small sampling of the songs we’re going to do… Dream a Little dream\, Dream\, Dream lover\, Dream baby\, Daydream Believer and more. I wasn’t kidding about the dream theme was I? \nDOWNLOAD THE SONG SHEETS HERE \nOur schedule: \n9 AM to 9:45 AM – It’s great to have Mark back and he will be leading the group in a few warm-up rehearsals of Pink Shoelaces. Mark will be directing the full arrangement of the song. If there’s time\, I will go over one or two of the trickier songs in my Deam list. \n10:00 to 11:15 AM – Dreaming of Ukuleles. \n11:15 AM to 11:40 – Individual performance time! I really hope we can get many people to sign up. I would love to see some of our new Strummers stretch their wings. Then we need to pack up and exit the building before Noon. \nDisclaimers: \nMasks are no longer mandatory\, however\, if you feel more comfortable wearing one\, please do. \nIt is very important to the church that we have completely exited the building and cleaned up behind us before the next group arrives. So\, depending on the number of performance signups\, we may or may not get to all of them. Any member who signs up but does not get to perform will be moved to the top of the list for the next meeting. \nAny member who wishes to be a guest presenter/teacher needs to contact me weeks before the meeting\, let me know what you plan to present and provide me early copies of any material you will be handing out. \n
