DESCRIPTION:Join us October 25th for a “Howling” good time with our good friend and fellow Plucking Strummer\, Jadrian Johnson. Jadrian has assembled a fantastic list of spooky themed music for your enjoyment. Most of these songs are very familiar and he has picked music with just a few easy chords\, so I am looking forward to hearing everybody singing their hearts out. She will share her wealth of knowledge to keep our beginners moving forward and enjoying our wonderful instruments. \nJadrian will share his insights into more complex chord structures and the feelings they stir when you play them. \nAnd as is now a regular feature\, Oneida will have the parts for making the beautiful Ukulele-leis that we distribute at the International Ukulele Festival every year. Our goal it to make at least 200 and if everyone dedicates a little of their time will meet that goal in no time. \n9:50 AM to 10:00 AM  -Breaktime\, and a chance to mingle and share snacks and refreshments. \n10:00 to 11:15 AM – This will be our classic strum session\, performing a list of songs chosen by our guest leader. \n11:15 AM to 11:30 – Second Breaktime. \n11:30 AM to 12:00 Individual performance time! I really hope we can get many people to sign up. I would love to see some of our new Strummers stretch their wings. Then we need to pack up and exit the building before Noon. \nDisclaimers: \nIt is very important to the church that we have completely exited the building and cleaned up behind us before the next group arrives. So\, depending on the number of performance signups\, we may or may not get to all of them. We will also learn a 2-chord song by ear. Along with that set Magda will concurrently be teaching a lesson on The Circle of Fifths.\n\n\nUnlocking (or freaking out over) the Circle of Fifths: A Musical Roadmap\n\n\nDescription:\n\n\nDive into the world of music theory with our workshop on the Circle of Fifths! This interactive session will demystify one of music’s most powerful (and mysterious) tools\, helping you understand key signatures\, easily find notes for individual chords\, chord relationships\, and harmonic progressions.\n\n\nPerfect for beginners and seasoned musicians alike\, you’ll gain practical insights to enhance your basic understanding of how music work. This includes tips/structure for songwriting\, improvisation\, and overall musicality. Join us and explore how the Circle of Fifths can change the way you hear and create music!\n\n\nThe presentation will include hands-on drawing/notation and using your ukulele. Bring a pencil (different colors if you have them.) If you have a notebook or iPad\, that’s perfect but we will provide blank sheets of paper if you need it.\n\n\nAll attendees will receive a free sticker. (Who doesn’t love stickers?)
